Connecting to God's People
The Serenity Support Group
The Serenity Support Group is a ministry of Fellowship Alliance that meets weekly to give support and encouragement to those who have loved ones who have substance abuse issues (e.g. drugs, alcohol).
Does someone you love:
ü Need to use substances to feel “normal” or “stress-free”?
ü Hurt themselves or others because of the abuse of drugs or alcohol?
ü Lose time from work or school?
ü Experience a troubled home life because of substance abuse?
Have you:
ü Been affected directly or indirectly by a loved one’s substance abuse?
ü Made excuses or covered for a loved one’s substance abuse to family, friends, or employers?
ü Feared for your or other family members’ safety?
ü Believed that no one could possibly understand how you feel?
ü Think you are responsible for the behavior of the person who abuses drugs or alcohol?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you would benefit from the Serenity Support Group.
Each week Biblically-based teaching is presented on one of these topics: Hope, Patience, Faith, Wholeness, Serenity, Parenting, Love, Inventory, Honesty, Freedom, Sadness, Restoration, or Denial. Following the teaching, the participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented and what is going on in their lives. Each group is led by an experienced facilitator.
The Serenity Support Group meets on Thursdays, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
in the Red Barn (RB-2), 215 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd (Hwy. 541).
