Workshops emphasizing the importance of managing money God's way
Good $ense
Stewardship Ministry
At the heart of Good $ense lies a basic premise: as Christians, our money is not really ours. It belongs to God, and we are stewards of it. He gives us money to use for His glory, not our own.
This is not an easy concept to grasp in a market-driven society that constantly hammers out the message that, "the more things you have, the better, more successful person you are." As Christians, however, we know that our value comes from our identity as God's children - not from how much we own.
Money acts as a rival god, competing for our attention and controlling our choices. When the deceitfulness of riches is exposed as a lie, we experience new freedom to relate to God and serve Him in profoundly deeper ways.
A Personalized ApproachOur trained staff of volunteers is prepared to assist anyone in learning how to implement practical techniques to help in this process. Some of the things we discuss include:
- Tithing
- Spending habits
- Levels of debt
- Living standards
We sit side-by-side with individuals and couples, helping them analyze their financial situations and encouraging them to manage their resources in ways that truly honor God. We want to help people remove money as an impediment to a deeper relationship with Christ.
