Connecting

It is in a small group setting that we are able to practice the "One Another" commands of the New Testament.

See below for adult ministries that emphasize Connecting to God's People.

Connecting to God's People

This is what we are commanded to do. This step ultimately connects us to God as well, but it is through the "one another" commands spoken of by Paul and others in the New Testament that this connection takes place. The primary means through which we connect with God's people at FAC is through small groups – primarily our Mini-churches.

We desire that everyone who participates in weekend worship services would also be involved in a small group. It is in a small group setting that we are able to practice the "one another" commands. In a small group we can experience real discipleship as we intentionally focus on one another through God and His word.

When we are discipling and being discipled in a small group setting, we are personally engaged in carrying out God’s commands in the New Testament ...

  • Loving one another (Rom. 13:8)
  • Caring for one another (I Cor. 12:25)
  • Encouraging one another (I Thes. 4:18)
  • Praying for one another (James 5:16)
  • Instructing one another (Romans 15:14)

…on both the giving and receiving end. There are almost 40 such admonitions throughout the New Testament.

When these truths are being lived out under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in this context, it can truly be transformational!

As a church our goal is to be more intentional than ever about small groups and connecting to one another through our Lord who himself set an example with his group of 12.

In order to get connected to a small group, we encourage you to attend a "Next Step" reception.

Next Step Reception
If you’re new or have been coming regularly but haven’t gotten connected beyond the weekend service, join us for one of our monthly Next Step Receptions.

This is a great opportunity to find out more about our church family. It’s also your chance to ask questions at a friendly get together!

The “Next Step” Reception is an introduction to our history, structure, and vision as well as an invitation to join us as we connect to God, to God’s people, and to God’s work.
