About Us

God continues to bless the work of Fellowship Alliance as we endeavor to reach people locally, regionally, and globally for His Kingdom.

Our History

In 1980, following God’s call, Pastor Marty Berglund and his wife Laurie moved to New Jersey to start a church. Not long after Pastor Marty arrived in Indian Mills, NJ, he prayed and asked God if He would give him the opportunity to make an impact with the Gospel in his neighborhood and in the surrounding areas. /files/About Us/About Us Images/House church.jpg

The first worship services, attended by about 17 people, were held in the converted garage of the Berglunds’ home. The little church tried to reach out to everyone they could through Bible studies, children’s programs, youth work, and evangelistic visits to homes.

When that first little group grew to 50 people, they moved to a middle school in Medford, where they soon became a close group of 100. It was during this time that they developed the mini-church structure that continues to be the backbone of Fellowship Alliance.

Also during that period, the church purchased seven acres of land in Medford and began plans for a building. This was a difficult time. Again and again, they ran into obstacles with building approvals, financing, and construction. But, more important, again and again, God was faithful. He supplied all the needs for the new building, and in May of 1986, Fellowship Alliance had its first service in the new building, and what a service that was! Fellowship Alliance had begun phase three of its history, and everyone involved knew that it was God and God alone who had made it all happen. With /files/About Us/About Us Images/chapel worship_Resized_280x172.jpgexcitement and great anticipation for what God had in store, the 100 people began with new enthusiasm to reach more people with the Gospel. Ministries were expanded to include men, women, youth, singles, and more mini-churches. Not only did the church grow in numbers, but people grew stronger in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

By 1993, the church had grown to more than 1000 people, and four services were needed to accommodate everyone. Plans were begun for a second building that would include many more classrooms and a much larger sanctuary.

Again, against many obstacles, God worked to accomplish His plans, and in May of 1995, Fellowship Alliance moved into its new facility where we are today. God is continuing to bless, and we are once again following His leading as we expand our facilities to reach many more people in our area with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
